Known as the Violet Tree, this is a protected tree in South Africa. A medium-sized slender tree, it is used medicinally (and has been over-harvested for those applications) as well as a pesticide for stored grains.
As you can see from the photo, the clusters of sweetly scented flowers are stunning. They first appear as pink and change to purple. The bark is grey and smooth.
