ENGLISH MARIGOLD aka Pot Marigold. This introduced, low-lying(18") wildflower has many uses. Works great for borders or in containers.The dried petals are a substitute for saffron.This was also used to treat smallpox and measles during the civil war. If deadheaded, this plant will bloom profusely from mid-summer until first frost.This plant does best in cooler climates, but will grow just about anywhere there is 5-6 hrs of sun. In warmer states a little filtered sun in the afternoon will be needed for continuous blooms through fall. Not picky about soil. Pretty much a carefree plant after seedlings are established. Bloom are 3-4" across,colors are orange to yellow,no two blooms are exactly alike. English Marigolds will reseed if later blooms are left alone to drop seed.1oz = 4000+ Quality seeds per order.
